Shipping Policies

We understand the excitement that comes with a purchase for your beloved dog... you are eager to receive it!  We are just as excited for you to get your purchase and start using the products you purchase from us!  Since this is the case, the majority of our items ship within 1-2 business days from when you place your order.

You can determine your shipping charges by entering your state without any other information when you have filled your cart.  Press "update" and your shipping charges will be calculated for you. If you would like to use an expedited shipping method, please contact us for rates and options. 

In stock items usually ship within one to two business days of the order, and you will be notified of shipment via email.  If an item is ordered which is not currently in stock, it may take up to one week to ship.  If the item is anticipated to be backordered for longer than one week, we will notify you. The backordered item(s) will be shipped when in stock via our standard ground shipping methods (UPS ground and FedEx ground or US Postal Service).   All orders shipped to PO Box or military addresses will be shipped via US Postal Service; however, you will need to contact us for shipping quotes to PO Box or military addresses as the rates above do not necessarily reflect the cost for deliveries to these types of addresses.   

If you wish to use an expedited delivery option (UPS Overnight, UPS 2nd Day Air, FedEx Express), you will need to contact us for the shipping quote and your in stock order will ship the same business day (or next business day if a holiday or week end) if the order is placed prior to 12 noon eastern standard time.  If an item on the expedited order is backordered, we will notify you and ship what is available immediately, and any backordered items will be shipped when in stock via our standard ground shipping methods. 

You will receive a shipment confirmation via email when your order has shipped; tracking information will be included on all shipments so that you have the ability to prepare for your delivery date, if needed. 

Free Shipping Promotional Pricing

Advertised Free Shipping only applies to purchases with "Ship To" addresses that can accept any ground service delivery within the continental US and lighter product shipments to Alaska and Hawaii.

For shipments of The Honest Kitchen dog food to PO Boxes, APO addresses and Alaska and Hawaii, a fee per 4 pound box and 10 pound box will be assessed.

For shipments of West Paw Design dog beds to Alaska, Hawaii, PO and APO addresses, a fee of $10 will be assessed per bed. 

These assessments are necessary as the shipping options are limited to the US Postal Service and, as such, other competitively priced ground shipping options are not available. 

Standard Shipping Options

We ship US domestic orders using either UPS Ground, DHL Ground or US Postal Service (generally priority mail).  This option is designated as the Standard Delivery option.  We compare the carriers' rates and choose which way to ship based on the size of your order.  This will ensure that we can continue to give you the best possible shipping rate on all of your orders.  All orders should be delivered to you between 3-6 business days from the time of shipment.

All orders shipped to PO Box or military addresses will be shipped via US Postal Service; however, you will need to contact us for shipping quotes to PO Box or military addresses as the rates above do not necessarily reflect the cost for deliveries to these types of addresses.   

Shipping Materials

We recycle the shipping materials that we receive; therefore, you may receive your order with styrofoam peanuts or other less-than-eco-friendly packaging materials.  To us, reusing less than desirable packaging materials is better than stuffing a landfill with them.  We would appreciate you also continuing this cycle of re-use should you receive your order with such materials enclosed.   

Multiple Box Charge

Once in a while, an order may require multiple boxes or an oversized box.  Should this apply to your purchase, before processing your order, we will contact you with the additional shipping charge required for proper shipment so that you may make any adjustments desired.  This situation generally happens when orders involve a significant volume of bulky or heavy items.

Most of our fine selection of dog beds are shipped separately from other products directly from the manufacturer. 

International Shipping

Canadian Shipping Policies

In addition to the general shipping policies set forth on this page, there are a few specifically related to shipments to Canada.

Shipping Methods

Shipments to Canada will be processed using either First Class International, which should result in receipt of your purchase within 10 - 15 business days, or US Priority Mail International or DHL Air, which should result in receipt of your purchase within 3-5 business days.  We will use our discretion based on the nature and size of the purchase to select the most appropriate shipping method, but as a general rule, purchases under 4 pounds will be shipped First Class International.

As shipments to Canada are international, customs or other delays may be encountered which may cause shipments to take a little longer than anticipated.  If a circumstance arises which requires additional fees realted to customs, etc., such charges will be the responsibility of the purchaser.  We will notify you should we become aware of any such circumstances as soon as we become aware of them.  We will, of course, notify you as soon as we have shipped your item.

Products advertised with "Free Shipping" do not apply to Canadian "Ship To" addresses.  A fee of $8 to cover shipping costs to Canada will be assessed on these orders because international shipping is not included in this promotional pricing. Honest Kitchen purchases with Canadian "Ship To" addresses will be assessed an additional $22 shipping per 4 pound box and an additional $33 shipping per 10 pound box.

Items We Do NOT Ship to Canada

We currently do not ship canned dog food, supplements or dog beds to Canada.  If you place an order including these items, we will not be able to ship your order and your purchase will be refunded.

Return Policy

We understand it is not a perfect world.  Since it is not, there might be a rare instance requiring the return of something you have purchased.  Please review our return policy below for specific information. 

General Return Policy

  • You may return any unopened and unused products in original condition (no bite marks, fur, tears in packaging, scratch marks, etc.) within 30 days of receipt.
  • Other than returns due to a defective product or our error, effective May 1, 2008, a restocking fee of 5% will be assessed on all returns, excluding dog beds which are subject to a 10% restocking fee. Returned items purchased with free shipping will also be assessed a $5 shipping charge per item, excluding dog beds (actual initial shipping cost for dog beds will be assessed) to help cover original shipping costs. Returned items purchased with orders over $75 with free shipping will be assessed shipping charges that would have applied had the order not exceeded $75. We strive to make purchasing good quality products affordable; therefore, to help keep our pricing lower than many of our competitors, we have instituted a restocking fee.
  • Items, such as collars and certain toys, which are sold without any packaging attached must be returned with no signs of use, including fur, saliva residue, scratch marks, etc.  and may not be returned if they have been washed in any manner. 
  • You must request a return authorization number by sending an email using the form you will find at the "Contact Us" page.   Please write the return authorization number on the outside of the package.
  • We cannot accept returns without prior notification and a return authorization number.
  • Please include your order number and the item(s) you wish to return along with the reason for return.
  • You are responsible for properly packaging the items for shipment as we cannot honor credits of merchandise that are returned damaged.
  • Please ship your returned items to our physical location:  Global Dog Natural Pet Products, 1396 West Davies Place, Littleton, Colorado, 80120.
  • Please insure your package so that if it is damaged in transit, you will not be liable, the carrier will.
  • We do not reimburse for shipping costs incurred to return items nor do we refund original shipping costs.
  • If you return an item without prior notification, after 30 days of purchase, or that has been used, shows wear or has been damaged upon return, we will not be able to give credit for it.  We will donate it to a canine rescue organization on your behalf.  Therefore, you will not receive credit for the return, but you will have the satisfaction of knowing you have helped some less fortunate dogs.

Shipping Error

  • Once in a great while bad karma will interfere and you may receive an incorrect item. 
  • Please send us an email through the "Contact Us" page, referencing your order number and the nature of the mis-shipment. 
  • We will provide instructions for returning the item and obtaining the correct replacement. 
  • All items must be reported within the 30 day return policy period to receive credit.

By the Case Purchases 

  • If you ordered your canned food, toothpaste or other items by the case, we cannot accept a return of a partial case because of the special pricing or the packaging constraints of the purchase.

Natural Dog Treats, Unpackaged

  • All purchases of natural dog treats which are sold individually and not in factory sealed packaging are not returnable.  If your dog does not like the treat, please share it with a favorite canine friend of yours.

Closeout and Sale Items

  • No returns are accepted on these items unless there is a manufacturer's defect.

Exchanges

  • Did you order the wrong size or item?  The fastest means of exchanging is to place an order online for the correct item and return the item that you do not want in its original condition following the General Return Policy. 

Refused Delivery

  • If your order is refused upon delivery and returned to us, we will charge a restocking fee of $20 plus any return shipping charges.
  • If your order is returned to us because of a mistake in the address that was entered by you, we will charge you for the return shipping charges.  Please review your shipping address prior to submitting your order to ensure the address you have entered has a mail receptacle, an apartment number (if needed), is a current mailing address, etc. 
  • Please notify us if your ship to address cannot accept all means of ground delivery so that your shipment is not returned or refused.

Cancelled Orders

  • Please keep in mind that we try to process orders within one or two business days of placement, so if you change your mind, you may not be able to cancel your order after it is placed.
  • If you request that your order be cancelled and the order has been boxed but not yet picked up by the shipping service, you will be refunded the amount of the order less a 15% restocking fee assessed on the total product price.

Method of Credit

  • We do not issue store credits or cash refunds. 
  • We will only credit you in the same manner in which you made payment, so you will receive a credit to your Paypal or Google Checkout account or to the form of credit card you used to pay for your order.  It may take a few days to see the credit reflected on your account.
Payment Policy

We accept payment only in US dollars. 

We offer several options for remittance.  We accept:

  • Paypal, which enables you to remit payment either through credit card or electronic debit from your bank account. If you pay via check by Paypal, we will not ship until the payment has cleared Paypal.
  • Google Checkout, which enables you to purchase quickly without entering all of your credit information
  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Discover
  • American Express

We do not currently accept personal checks, money orders or wire transfers.
